I woke up @ 4:30am and went out on the deck. There was a fox hanging out
just below. I went down below to get a better look but he was gone. Then
I went out to the Pavillion to read and I heard something in the woods.
When I pointed my flashlight in to the trees, I could see two foxes
looking back at me.
Woke everyone up @ 7am and started loading the car and cleaning up. The
kids took the last of the bread to the turtles. We were on the road by
8:25 and @ Golden Corral by 8:50am. (Good time to go because it wasn't
busy yet and the food was fresh) 10 am we left Golden Corral and hit the
road.
4:30pm about 80 miles from Nj Del/Mem Bridge.
No traffic so far.
Finished reading "Night Fall".......Loved It................ Hated The
End.
8pm...We hit the usual traffic on NJ TPK Exits 7+8.
10pm Home at last!

Saturday 9-1-07
Got up @ 6:30 and got dressed for walk and ready for pool. I went down
to docks to take some pictures of sailboats that I would like one day.
After that I went to boat launch out of curiosity to see if I could spot
any dolphin by chance. None.
I went poolside @ around 8:30 and grabbed "Our Table" and lounge chairs
along with enough towels for everyone. No excercise classes today.
Probably just Monday through friday. Jason called and I filled him in
and told him to come on down when everyone was ready. I figure i'll read
until then and get some pool-time in today to work off all of that pizza
I ate yesterday. (Close to 20 slices + dessert)
EVERYBODY came down to the pool today. First time all week that we got
all down @ 1 time. We stayed at pool until about 5pm and soaked in the
last of the sun, even though it was mostly cloudy.
We ate whatever there was in the house as far as leftovers and whatever
else would not travel back with us tomorrow. Whatever bread is left will
go to the turtles in the morning. I hope they are not very hungry
because it doesn't look like there will be much left. After dinner I
took the kids out for the final PGA golf outing.
Time to pack and get ready for early departure in morning. Planning on
Breakfast @ Golden Corral. I have to say that this turned out to be a
very relaxing Vacation.

Friday 8-31-07
Well I woke up @ 4:30am and started to watch a movie on my Laptop
w/headphones on so I wouldn't wake anybody up. I had too much energy to
just sit still and watch that so I decided to get a good long walk in
before everyone woke up. Based on the last 4 days, I figured that gave
me 4 hours. Everybody sleeps in, but that is what vacations are for, for
Normal people, so I guess that makes me abnormal. The only long stretch
of road is the road isthe one leading to the resort so I figured I would
walk to the check-in office and back. No streetlights but I had a full
moon. I wasn't quit sure how long it was but I had the Owls and the
occasional dog to break the silence for me. 3hrs and 9miles later I
returned and was ready to do my daily job of getting to the pool early
and save "Our" table and lounge chairs for the day. The "older" people
get to the pool at 7:30 and have the pool till about 9:45 to swim laps
and have their "pool aerobics/water resistance" classes before the kids
get there. My self-appointed job is to save a good table and enjoy the
last of my "Me Time" before the troops roll in. I donated my "King of
Torts" book to the library here and took another to read. Not many that
I liked but I did find one by an Author that my Mom suggested. "Night
Fall" by Nelson Demille.
Another beautiful day with no humidity and very few clouds. We spent
the morning at pool then off to CiCi's for power Lunch. After CiCi's we
were going to stop @ Walmart to buy some Ribs to cook tomorrow night.
Last year there was this guy Craig who worked here at the Rec. Center
who, I must say, was the nicest and friendliest guy. The kids looked for
him right away when we got here but apparently he had moved on to bigger
and better things. The kids loved his "How youaaaal doin?" and his other
southernisms. Well back to Walmart. We were walking past a jewelry store
between CiCi's and Walmart and Evelyn thought she saw Craig working
there, but wasn't sure. We continued on. I ducked out of Walmart and
went back to investigate. Sure enough it was him! I told him that the
kids had been asking about him and that really made his day. I said that
I just wanted to make sure so that the kids didn't go running up to a
stranger by mistake and said that I would be bringing the kids by in a
few minutes. Well I did and both the kids and Craig had a great chat.
Small world.
Tonight is Movie Night ("Wild Hogs") and I signed the kids up to watch.
Free movie with popcorn and drinks plus 1 1/2 hrs peace and quiet.
Gregoria went too and said that Craig had called earlier to share the
story about meeting the kids at his job with his ex-coworkers. It really
made his day!
I had a belly full of pizza to sleep off and took a power nap. I woke up
when they got back and then stayed up till 1am watching some tv and
reading. 1 full day left :(

Thursday 8-30-07
Not too much to mention today because we are just going to relax by pool
and re-charge. At least the adults are going to. I read "King of Torts"
by John Grisham wich was pretty good. I haven't sat down and read a book
in a long time.
We ate at BB Hurricanes for dinner. Service was much better this year
but we made the mitake of eating outside. The food was good (Burgers and
such) and the flies thought so too. Not a lot of flies but a few
persistent ones.
After dinner we all walked around the Marina and looked at all the
different boats. I've already picked out the one that I would like.
Sailboat. I will have to take a picture of the one I like. The weather
is still "Stellar-ific"

Wednesday 8-29-07
Now this is a Vacation day!
No trips to the Store, No trips to Gas Station, No getting Lost, No anything Off Site.
I got up @ 6am and went down to Dock to feed the turtles. No geese around to Bully them for the pilfered Bread. i got alot of turtles interested but since This Pond doesn't get as much Human traffic, they were a bit shy. The few who did come were over-run by little fish. Finally 1 Big turtle came up to me and stayed put. I reached down and he ate from my hand. I then threw a Big peice in and all the turtles suddenly got brave and fought over it and dragged it away.
We spent the rest of the Day Poolside and Jason and Ryan practiced their favorite wrestling moves in the deep end.
Chicken and Rice for Dinner and then everyone went off to the other pond to feed the turtles. Much more succsessful over there.
After Turtle Buffet it was time for Miniature Golf Tournament. All the kids and I were involved (6). At the 3rd Hole, we let the foursome of older players behind us Play-Through. We all did pretty well but by the time we got to the 18th hole, the same foursome had already finished their game and were on the 17th hole waiting for us. Sad.
The weather was "Stellar" today.(Cindyism) and I think tomorrow will be the same.
Tuesday 8-28-07
We stopped at a dinner after the "Cruise" for lunch and the food and
service was excellent but the Check is hand-written with NO Total. You
have to add it up yourself. I think the waitress might have done this
because we were going to be splitting the Bill but
still...whatever...more unusual than annoying.
After lunch we went to NC Aquairium @ Pine Knoll Shores. It really is a
Great Aquarium. Completly Re-done in the last few years, it is very
impressive. Not huge but very nice and the staff make you feel like you
really matter.

They have a nature trail out back which leads you through the marshlands
in the backand last years was very enjoyable...last year. This year
however was a different story. Everything was the same as last year
except for the the mosquitos! Jason and Junior turned back within the
first 25 yards (smart). Everyone else moved on. I came last and was the
one who told Jason and Ryan that they didn't HAVE to go the rest of the
way. By the time I caught up with the rest, I was being eaten alive and
They were carring Branches and swinging them around at the mosquitos.
Well I quickly passed them up ,since we were passed the "point of no
return", decided to run for it. I felt like Indiana Jones dodging the
poison darts running through this marshy trail. If I had come across
anybody else, I would have told them to run for their lives. As the rest
of the group finally emerged from the trail, they saw a couple of people
walking down the entrance to the trail. No warning was given. We don't
know if they ever made it out alive.
After the aquarium we came back to Fairfield, went to the pool and then
to Golden Corral. Food...Excellent. Crowd.....None! We managed to sneak
a few Rolls out to feed the turtles.
Coming back to Resort we got lost again. Well, not lost but missed a
turn. We are doing that all the time This Year and it is as funny as it
is annoying.
Tommorow, nothing planned, No Road-Trips, No sight-seeing, just
relaxing.......NICE.

Tuesday 8-28-07 Dolphin Watch Cruise
We left 7:15am this morning to Beaufort, NC to go on the Dolphin Cruise.
They guarentee that you WILL SEE DOLPHINS or you next trip is FREE. Well
we went out for 2hrs and saw ALOT......of stuff, but NO dolphins. We
were fine with that though because it was really a beutifull day and we
had the whole boat almost to ourselves. There were 10 of us and about 5
or 6 other people on board. The Captain pointed out a lot of historical
sites and we saw Wild Horses on this Island that are the from the
original horses brought over from the first colonists. Blackbeards
House. The kids all had a chance to steer the boat on the way back. When
we got back to the dock, they gave us Free Passes for the next time we
want to go. The passes never expire too.

Continued...still no luck getting my laptop to connect to internet but I
still have"My Precious" Phone which does have internet and the resort
has a computer with internet which is free to use. I will be adding
pictures to this blog soon. I still don't like how it puts new entries @
top of page but "it is what it is"
We went to CiCi's last night, Great as always and then a "quick?" stop @
Walmart (Huge Huge Huge)
The kids and I went Bat Hunting again last night. No Bats again...more
frogs. We are going to crash early tonite because tomorrow we are going
to Beaufort, NC (about 1hr 15min away) to go on a Dolphin watch cruise
from 9am-11:30am and then to the NC Aquairium which is nearby there.
Also Golden Corral is Family Night tomorrow.

Monday 8-27-07
Got up early 4:30 and tried tofigure out why I can't connect to
wireless. 6:30 am I went for a walk and then went to gym.
We all went into town and visited the Information Center, then to the
Park by the Drawbridgeand then to the "Birthplace of Pepsi", then over
to the "Cow Cafe". There is a 90 min. Trolly Ride that tours "New Bern"
but it is now 12:15pm and it only leaves @ 10am and 2pm. I know that the
kids are not interested in THAT. Maybe I'll stay with kids and the
others can go on the tour another day.
Tonight..CiCi's Pizza! 5pm-9pm all kids just $1.99.
Stay tuned.....

Sunday
We arrived at Fairfield Harbour in the pouring rain @ about 1:30pm. We
unpacked and settled in. Gregoria went shopping for food while I took
the kids to the pool, BUT the pools were closed due to the thunder
storms so we had to wait. Finally got in the pool @ 6pm. Water was 88°,
very nice. Pasta for dinner and then we went for a walk to look for
bats. We found Frogs. Ice cream for dessert. 9pm now and thunder and
lightning has started to arrive again. Tomorrow is another day.

Stopped for Gas and We were on the road by 7:45. GPS is working Great!
11:00am and we are about 1 1/2 hrs away from New Bern. We have seen a
lot of signs for "Cracker Barrel" and we saw one that was packed. We
have to try one before we come home.

Finally got to Travelodge (605 Warrenton Rd, Frederiricksburg, Va) @
6:30pm and the rooms were very nice. Clean, 1st Floor, Coffee pot, Hair
Dryer, Safe w/digital Combination and Nice Strong Shower. We went to
"Sam's Subs and Pizza" which was just down the street. Buy 1 get 1 Free
Pizza's $12, I had good Gyro. Nice Restraunt. Eat-in or Take-out. A much
nicer place than the name suggests. We opted for take-out. Got back to
our rooms, ate, showered, tried to watch "Snakes on a Plane" (horrible
movie!). Crashed at around 11pm. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Saturday 8-25-07 Traffic!
3pm and just crossed Deleware Memorial Bridge! We hit traffic on NJTpke
until about Exit 8 and then it cleared up. Now after we crossed the
Bridge.....BAM...More Traffic. Plus we had a screw-up at the Bridge Toll
Booth, it seems that out of all the lanes. We ended up in a Cash Only
Lane. We had to fill out a form and take the EZ-Pass off the windsheild
a give it to the Operator so he could copy some junk off it.
